Those of you that follow me on Twitter or are friends with me on Foursquare, know that I enjoy my Portuguese PERi-PERi chicken restaurant, also known as Nandos! I love eating there almost on a weekly basis, as the delicious flame grilled PERi-PERi covered chicken, alongside chips dipped in coleslaw always sorts me out when I’m feeling hungry.
If you are after something wholesome, quick and relatively healthy, Nando’s is a great place to eat.The staff in every restaurant that I’ve been to have been so happy and welcoming. The atmosphere at Nando’s is relaxed and buzzing at the same time.
I don’t even need to look at the menu when I’m at the restaurant, my choice of meal is half a succulent chicken (medium PERi-PERi), chips, coleslaw (£9.65) with a refillable soft drink (£2.25) and if I’m feeling extra greedy, I will also go for a side of halloumi cheese (£1.00) and garlic bread (£2.10) to share. The big juicy spicy mixed olives (£3.15) are also great to share and nice to munch on as an appetiser as well.
There are a range of dipping sauces to choose from, my favourite being the garlic PERi-PERi sauce. But if you are brave enough, you could go for the extra extra hot PERi-PERi sauce.
Another great thing about Nando’s is their loyalty card – On your 3rd visit you get a free ¼ chicken, on your 6th visit you get a free ½ chicken and on your 10th visit you get a free whole chicken. I have a couple of these cards on the go!
It may be just another fast food chain to everyone else, but it’s always my first choice compared to other joints like McDonalds, KFC and Burger King because ultimately, the chicken tastes good!
Need to stop writing– I’m currently dribbling over my keyboard right now. Do you have a passion for PERi-PERi chicken?
