I’ve previously blogged about Nars Outremer Eyeshadow and mentioned how it wasn’t as bright as I thought it would be. However, I’ve now tried it with a dampened brush and it certainly is electric! Here’s how it looked:
I do love the colour and it’s definitely less chalky with a damp brush, but I still find it hard to apply and think I need some more practice! Sometimes I worry that I look like a 5 year old let loose on the makeup counter!
I picked up a free Missguided nail polish in each of Cosmopolitan magazine’s September and October issues. The colours I got were Missbehave (light pink) and Misstaken (orange) and are worth £5.00 each.
So far, I’ve only tried the Missbehave polish, which is the colour on my nails in the picture below.
I just needed two coats of the polish to get the same shade as the colour in the bottle, but I used three coats (just to see how much of a difference it made!). The polish applies on well and leaves a nice gloss, but it doesn’t dry superfast, but it’s still faster than some of the nail polishes I’ve bought in the past.
I would definitely buy other Missguided nail polishes, but looking at their website, there isn’t that much of a selection to choose from. Hopefully there’ll be more soon!
Have you tried any of Missguided’s freebies? Or have you bought any of their beauty products?
One of my must have makeup products and repurchases is Benefit’s Hoola bronzer. I love that it’s matte and has no shimmer or sparkle in it, which gives a natural sun kissed look.
I’m not a fan of the brush that comes with the bronzer, it tends to look too ‘square’ or ‘stripy’ on my face, and when I first used the product with the brush, I thought it made me look dirty like I had mud on my face! However, using my favourite brush, the product applies really nicely and you don’t need to use much of it to get a natural bronzed colour.
It’s quite pricey at £23.50 but it lasts for ages and I haven’t found a bronzer that I like more!
Let me know if you have any bronzer recommendations by leaving a comment on Munch and Makeup.
I kept seeing the adverts for the Max Factor Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint on TV, so when I was in Superdrug I decided to pick one up.
I’m not usually a fan when it comes to anything on my lips apart from lip balm, as they get quite dry and lipsticks/lip stains just show the dryness even more. This was also the case with the MF lip tint.
I chose shade 05 and I love the deep berry colour. I liked the felt tip nib and also the light feel of the tint. However, it would have been better if my lips were in better condition in the first place, I did try applying lip balm before the MF lip tint but I think it may have stopped the colour from coming out the pen!
Here’s how it looks –
It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve had the pen and it seems to have dried up. Not a good investment of £5.99.
Have you had a better experience with Max Factor’s Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint?
Today I’m wearing purple passion on my nails. As mentioned in one of my previous posts on munch and makeup, this is actually the second time I’ve purchased this nail polish from Models Own.
The colour is nice and a bit unusual – in the daytime the polish looks slightly pink but in the evening the purple looks quite deep and dark.
I really like this nail polish as it has a smooth texture which makes it easy to paint my nails and it dries quickly too. I used two coats of purple passion which gave my nails matte look but I used a protective layer on top to get a glossy finish.
Have you got a passion for purple?
Those of you who have read my other nail polish blog post on munch and makeup know that I’m a fan of Models Own. The shade ‘Jade Green’ was one of the three nail polish colours in my previous order which I’ve been wearing for a few days now and love it.
I was a little disappointed at first, as after applying two coats of Jade Green my nails still looked transparent – I needed to apply three coats of polish to get its full burst of colour. On a plus point the polish dried quickly so it wasn’t too much of a bother!
Another good thing was that I didn’t coat a protective layer of polish on my nails and not only does Jade Green have a glossy and smooth finish, there are still no chips after a few days of wearing it!
What’s your favourite nail polish colour?
