I’ve been taking lots of pictures of everything, with good intentions to blog, but how time flies – it has already been three months since my last post!
It seems that trying to buy a house is very stressful, which I blame for the amount of break outs and spots that I have. Being 25 years old, I hoped that it wouldn’t be something that I would have to deal with anymore! Here’s what I’ve been using to help keep them down:
Bliss no ‘zit’ sherlock breakout-busting rubberizing mask x 6 packets
I was looking for a facemask that specifically targeted spots. According to their website, facemask is the same one used in bliss spas, so I thought it would be a good choice. It says, “The unique rubber texture is designed to envelop skin’s surface to absorb impurities and allow the mask’s key ingredients to be optimally absorbed by the skin. Plus, bliss no ‘zit’ sherlock breakout-busting rubberizing masks are packed with pore-de-clogging, oil-absorbing, super-soothing extracts and nourishing, detoxifying seaweed.”
When I ordered it, I thought it was a mask that you just apply straight from the pack, but it takes a bit of effort as you need to mix the contents with water and mix into a paste before applying it onto your face and neck quickly (it’s messy to clean up!).
It smells like menthol tea tree and feels nice and cooling on my face which peels off after 20 minutes, which afterwards definitely made my spots look less red. Be careful about getting it in your hair though as it’s a pain to get out!
At £35 it is quite pricey (£5.83 per mask), but at desperate times I didn’t care. At the salon it costs £135 for 75 minutes, I’m not sure what it entails though.
Bliss no ‘zit’ sherlock clarifying system spot treatment 15ml
I also got myself a spot treatment to help with the break outs (and I also wanted to get the ‘free’ bliss goodie bag!). It’s made with 2% salicylic acid which I heard is good for tackling spots, although I didn’t end up using this much so I can’t really give an opinion on it! It cost £15 which is definitely pricey, especially for the amount of times I’ve used it! Has anyone else used this?
Salcura Antiac Acne Clearing Spray
I came across this product after browsing spot treatments online and according to Feel Unique was voted as “Voted best acne product on Channel 4 TV documentary, ‘Embarrassing Bodies: Live From The Clinic”
The main ingredient is Sea Buckthorn Oil which contains omega 3,6,7 & 9 which is supposed to help rejuvenate the skin, reduce inflammation, be calm and soothing.
It smells like eucalyptus and is also quite clinical. To apply, you spray it onto the skin and massage it with your hands, then soak a cotton pad with the spray and wipe away and then repeat the first step. You’re supposed to do this twice a day! It cost £30 for 250ml but there are smaller bottles you can buy.
When I get spots I tend to eat more healthily, drink lots of water and have my lemon and warm water each morning, so I’m not too sure how much of an extent these products have helped. Let me know if you have come across any miracle spot treatments!
